Our background

Flow is part of Bright Sites, a company born in the newsroom. Founder Brian Alford spent years building bespoke platforms for UK publishers before pivoting to SaaS products tailored for newsrooms.

Working in the middle of the newsroom floor, the team gained first-hand insight into the daily challenges editors and audience teams face. That experience shaped our culture of building intuitive tools that help publishers create more value from their content and adapt quickly to tight deadlines.

Flow is our first and flagship product, an AI-powered CMS trusted by more than 200 publications for its smart, audience-driven recommendations. As we continued to work closely with publishers, it became clear that newsrooms needed a dedicated tool to allow publishers to scale by removing the friction from content creation caused by journalists needing to spend their time on non-journalism activities like SEO, data and analytics, cross-platform management, social tracking etc. That insight led to Flow.
